xp anti virus 2010

Hi

Seem to have picked up this nasty virus "xp 2010 antivirus".

It is not letting me run anti virus software or run malwarebytes any ideas on what is the best fix

If I recall, I saw this last year on a friends PC, but it was Anti Virus 2009 (which is in fact the virus)

It would sometimes show a screen which resembled the blue screen of death and showed the PC rebooting, when really, you could press the start key and your start menu would pop up.

seem to have got infected with this nasty malware once again slightly different variation, takes quite a bit of getting rid off.
Once it gets hold you cant launch any internet related programmes e-mail, web browsers, spybot, antivirus etc.

You need to boot up in safemode run malwarebytes if installed, this got rid of the malware but left a few things broken, Google Chrome would not work, outlook express seemed a little erratic as well

after updating run anti virus and anti malware again and all the infections are now gone, had to system restore to get my other progs to work porperly again, hopefully it is now clear of this horrible malware.
