There is an issue which has recently started appearing which is unrelated to what version of GA2 you are running, the problem can present itself on any version....
It is limited to Windows XP based machines as far as we are aware and specifically to computers with onboard intel graphics and some ATI cards, The problem is causing GA2 to not display ANY graphics.
At the moment we are not 100% clear on the actual cause, however it appears that an automatically installed windows update is the culprit.
The problem seems limited to XP computers with an intel onboard graphics card and also some ATI graphics cards.
If you experience this issue, theres two options.
A. Call us to resolve the problem, if possible we would also like to spend a small amount of time looking into the cause (we cannot replicate it here)
B. Change your hardware accelleration level, as described below.
1. Right click on your windows desktop and choose Properties
2. Click on Settings (bottom)
3. Click on Advanced (lower right)
4. Click on the Troubleshoot Tab
5. Adjust the slider for hardware accelleration either to the second of third notch and click apply
6. GA2 will display normally after doing this.
We are still trying to discover which update may be causing the issue, however the problem does not seem to affect most XP installs.
