Insering customer details into document templates

I need to use one of the document templates & can't work out if you can autofill the boxes with the customers name, address & vehicle details, is this possible ?

You can insert dynamic customer details using the merge fields shown on the right when creating or editing a template

Such as entering

Dear <<Name>>

When used via the mailshot section or sending an email / SMS, the merge field <<Name>> will be replaced with the customers name.
