    Default SMS and Email templates not working

    Hi

    I’ve just purchased GA2 and I’m testing out the features - most impressed so far! I have the following issues/questions. I've searched the forum and the FAQ/user guide but have not found an answer. Can you help?

    1. SMS – When clicking the SMS button on a customer record, the SMS screen is displayed with the to and from no.s included. But there does not appear to be a way of selecting one of the sms message templates. How are these selected?
    2. SMS - I have sent a few test SMS messages. The time reported on the log for these is about 4 hours out of sync with the actual time
    3. SMS – I tried to reply to a test SMS message. Although the message was sent from the mobile it did not arrive at the other mobile (ie the from no. in GA2)– where do reply messages go?
    4. Email – When I click on email from a customer record, the email screen pops up but no details are pre-filled (e.g. the 'to' field). Also, although there is an option for selecting a template at the bottom of the screen, pressing the 'Insert' button does not do anything. I did see a previous note about creating a first invoice before using this feature. I have done this but no difference.

    Any tips appreciated. Thanks

    I will do my best to answer some of your questions

    In relation to question one, the selection of the templates is made by clicking on the relevant white button at the top of the screen on the left hand side.

    Question 2
    You are correct the sent log appears to be approx 4hrs out not sure about that, this would be one for the sws team.


    Question 3

    GA does not have its own internal mobile number so you cant reply to a sent message, as i think it is an automated web based service.


    Question 4.

    I have been testing this today,in order for the to: field to be filled you need to record the client e-mails address in the box provided at it will insert itself to the correct field.

    The insert cover letter appears to work fine on my system, maybe try it again,

    What i did notice is not working is the dynamic insertion of the required fields, i.e. automatic insertion of the cuspmer details to the cover letter. Again that will be one for the steve and the sws team.

    Having said that it does all work correctly if you use the e-mail invoice button at the bottom of the screen opposed to the one below the address details, you can also attach the cover letter using this button and the dynamic fields will be filled in.

    The only thing you cannot do is to attach any other files i.e images etc when using the e-mail button on the lower screen.

    Dunsdale, Thanks very much for your reply. That does help alot. I can now send the sms from the invoice screen.

    I was trying to send from the Customer (Profile) screen where there is an SMS button. Pressing this takes you to a completely different SMS screen where there is no option to click on a standard message.

    Perhaps it wasn't designed to do that but it would appear to be a desitrable option - e.g. the Please Contact us message is likely to be required during a job, rather than when you are producing the invoice.


    On the emails, I get the same as your tests so can now send a mail. What I was trying to do was just send an email to a customer from the Customer Profile screen, rather than from an invoice. System seems to been designed for that but isn't working.


    I can live with the no replies to sms now that I know. I found that if I put Co name as the 'from' in GA2, then when the message is received the co name is displayed as the sender and therefore a reply cant be sent from the mobile.
